“ Máire ní Chathasaigh is the doyenne of Irish harpers” (SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY) and recipient of Irish music’s most prestigious award, Traditional Musician of the Year (Gradam Cheoil TG4 - Ceoltóir na Bliana). Maire is the innovator of several unique techniques on the harp and has performed from an early age. She is a sought-after teacher as well as a performer. Along with Chris Newman, virtuoso guitarist, they have presented their unique musical vision in twenty-two countries on five continents. The Irish Times describes their performance as “music of fire and brilliance from the high-wire act in traditional music.” From Songlines, “an eclecticism and spirit of adventure that is quite thrilling.”
